DDClothing, is a fully legitimate, tax registered, government start-up, independent small business, established in 2016 & located in Hull, UK. Therefore, DDClothing has ABSOLUTELY nothing to hide & EVERYTHING to PROVE that we are a GENUINE company, trading in GENUINE designer label clothing at GENUINELY hard to beat discounts. DDClothing was never intended as a business concept. Like many small business’s, DDClothing begun as a personal pastime, which, partly due to its own success, has gradually evolved into a commercial venture.

Where did it all begin?

With one person, spending far longer than necessary searching online for designer label bargains, but nevertheless, became rather good at it.

What happened next?

As family and friends became aware of this particular knack, the personal shopping requests/ orders begun to arrive.

Where did it go from there?

For at least 5-years, as the list of orders continued to grow & the service happily provided for free & probably still would be, had DDClothing not been formed.

When did it first become a business proposition?

Despite many previous suggestions to the same. Only when the need to earn a living, left little option other to really explore the idea and ultimately commit to the venture.

DDClothing then enrolled on an 8-week, government sponsored, self-employment/ small business start-up program. During which, with the assistance, advice & support provided, the business plan for DDClothing was formed. With this completed and officially approved in June 2016, DDClothing was officially registered as a self-employed small business.

Trading roots/ History
It seemed almost too good to be true, when within days of DDClothing’s formation, we received a very attractive offer to trade from a city centre retail unit, Queen’s Street, Hull, as part of a multi-business venture, operated under the auspices of Bespoke Boutiques. Where, to keep it as brief as possible, during almost 7-months of occupancy, DDClothing accounted for 99.9% of the overall trade. From the very outset, DDClothing would succeed in attracting enough passing trade & emerging base of repeat custom, to continue operating profitably throughout our tenure..

This was even despite, the civil improvements for the 2017 city of culture, severely restricting public access to the premises for most of our tenancy. (as featured in HDM article) After making satisfactory progress during the first 6-months of trading from this unit. Sadly, what had seemed too good to be true, indeed was. As, following a spate of overnight thefts, (almost certainly committed by the tenancy holder & head of Bespoke Boutiques), DDClothing was forced to vacate the premises, with immediate effect, in February 2017. Leading us to hastily make the unprepared switch to the home-based operation which has continued ever since. Thanks largely to a sufficiently loyal customer base, their all-round willingness to generate additional trade and the use of Whatsapp. DDClothing has so far managed to remain afloat for nearly 5-years. However, from day one, the ultimate goal has always been, to eventually develop & launch our very own DDClothing website & here it is!

DDClothing has always believed that we have the right stock at the right prices, to satisfy the taste & budget of the most savvy designer label bargain hunters, if only they knew about us? So, it’s now down to DDClothing to spread the word and find out whether or not, we were right?
